From the sparkling blue waters of Muskoka to the rugged shores of Georgian Bay to the outdoor gems known as the Kawarthas and the Haliburton Highlands, there’s something to please and appease everyone’s idea of the ideal getaway. And it’s all easily accessible from Toronto and Ottawa.

Accommodate yourself in grand full service resorts, rustic lodges or self-catering cottages - the welcome mat is always out. Each one offers a variety of activities on site, including kayaking, horseback riding, hiking, cycling, spas and much more. Putt around on world-class golf courses with magnificent wilderness vistas as a backdrop.

Grab your tackle and catch your dreams in a true angler’s paradise. Take a scenic boat tour through a meandering inland waterway, the 386 km Trent-Severn Waterway.

On the southern shores of Georgian Bay, embark on an eco-adventure tour at Scenic Caves Nature Adventures near Blue Mountain Resort, then settle in for shopping, dining and entertainment in the pedestrian village. A half hour away, cool off on the longest freshwater beach in the world, sandy 14-km long Wasaga Beach. In Midland, visit Saint-Marie among the Hurons, a recreated 17th century Jesuit mission featuring highly knowledgeable traditionally dressed interpreters. In nearby Penetanguishene, stroll around historic Discovery Harbour with replicas of British sailing ships.  Don’t miss Horseshoe Resort nearby for still more outdoor adventures!

Come winter, try ice fishing, snowshoeing or cross country skiing. Experience the magic of dogsledding. Or zoom through a winter wonderland on the longest network of groomed snowmobile trails in the world.
